With over forty years of professional experience in the Australian music industry, Tony Harvey is a talented and versatile performer. His extensive repertoire of well over 100 songs and over 70 instrumentals includes originals and genres ranging from laid back jazz to rock and everything in between. His wide-ranging appeal makes him an ideal choice to entertain any audience.
Tony was recognized as one of the best guitarists going around in the vibrant and competitive Melbourne music scene of the 80’s. Touring and recording with notables including James Freud (Models) Keith Lamb (Hush) and Lynne Randall, he also performed with popular cover bands The Call Boys, Gimix and others.
Tony returned home to the NSW North Coast in the late 80’s where, after completing his BA (Music) degree, he worked for a time teaching at the Conservatorium of Music and TAFE before operating his own successful recording studio. During this time, he also continued performing locally in several bands and duos as well as being in demand as a solo performer and guitar tutor.
Since the Covid pandemic, Tony has performed regularly with Swanee as well as moving back to Melbourne where he is performing in a Cold Chisel Tribute Band and playing Solo gigs. He has also joined the cast of Shakespeare Under The Stars’ - Much Ado About Nothing - performing nightly at Melbourne’s Royal Botanic Gardens. It draws on pop music, rock imagery, pantomime and sitcom. The result is not so much a play-within-a-play, as a play within a rock concert. Packed full of 90s pop & rock music, this musical production is wonderfully romantic, hilariously funny and truly rocks along!
